Jacqui Braunlich

I  completed a Bmus at UCT a long time ago and soon after that I decided that ultimately, I would prefer music to be my hobby rather than my career. After teaching for a while, I moved to Johannesburg to get into broadcasting. I joined the SABC as Music Programme Producer and this involved writing, compiling and presenting weekly programmes for SAfm. During this time I obtained a Journalism Diploma through part time studies and I then moved to the SABC news department where I worked as a Producer/Journalist for Radio Today, which later became AM/PM Live. The early 90’s were exciting times, with South Africa’s enormous transition and it was wonderful to be in the midst of it.

In 2002 I returned to Cape Town with my family and once again re-invented myself, this time as a tour guide. Soon after I started my tour company, Cape by Design Tours. I work mostly with German and Dutch tourists and I love showing visitors the spectacular tourist spots, as well as the out of the ordinary places and people of Cape Town and beyond.

Due to the nature of my work, I am not able to commit to one time slot every week, but I am a regular stand-in presenter for others. I love to keep working for FMR, to stay in touch with the beautiful music and also with music lovers of Cape Town and the rest of the world.
