The final Friends of Orchesetral Music fundraising soiree for 2019 celebrates Baroque Music with a programme entitled The Misshapen Pearls.
17th century jewellers described a misshapen pearl as ‘Barocco’ and the programme will focus on the stark contrasts found in Baroque music, leaning on the idea of chiaroscuro (light-dark), as well as exploring the improvisational aspect of the music. Featuring Erik Dippenaar – harpsicord with baroque violins of Ralitza Macheva and Refiloe Olifant. The evenings include sumptuous food, wine & chance to talk with the musicians while overlooking the city.
