We are supporting the South African National Youth Orchestra, as they celebrate Mandela Day, on Saturday the 16th of July, at the Hugo Lambrechts Auditorium.
The National Youth Orchestra will perform under the baton of the sensational Polish Conductor Ewa Strusiñska. The concert named, Come Alive with Mahler 5, includes Mahler’s glorious Fifth Symphony, and Benjamin Britten’s seldom-heard Double Concerto for Violin and Viola.
For tickets or more information about Come Alive with Mahler 5 go to www.sanyo.org.za or call 083 272 2117.
For those who see by listening
Fine Music Radio’s Station Manager, Mark Jennings, enthuses, “By giving the gift of sound to the visually impaired we are sharing a world of beautiful classical and jazz music. We understand that not everyone has the means to attend a symphony concert at the City Hall. With our Thursday night live broadcasts they can now enjoy the concerts from the comfort of their homes, as well as being entertained by the rest of our programming ”.
