Why FMR? – out of order

Why FMR needs your support?

FMR takes great pride in broadcasting quality music in the classical and jazz genres which is enjoyed by discerning listeners 24 hours a day.    FMR is proactive in promoting South African music and musicians along with topical news and interviews about events in Cape Town’s cultural and performing arts scene. Talk is kept to a minimum, music is the most important aspect of programme compilations.

Apart from a small paid core staff, all presenters, compilers and support personnel are volunteers who donate their time and expertise without recompense.     FMR is funded by membership fees from the FMR Association, private donations, advertising and airtime sponsorship.  A Section 21 company (not for individual gain), FMR receives no financial support from any public authority or overseas or local NGO.  FMR Association members and donors voluntarily pay an annual subscription to cover the station’s running costs.   FMR Association members and donors are invited to attend the Fine Music Radio AGM and are entitled to vote at this meeting.

Standard membership of the FMR Association is R280 per annum, but any donation is welcomed.

There are some individuals who can and do contribute greater financial support.  We have initiated, therefore, an FMR benefactor’s programme. Contributions can be made in the following categories:

Silver Benefactor:           R1000 – R3000 per annum
Gold Benefactor:             R3000 – R5000 per annum
Platinum Benefactor:    R5000 and above per annum

All monies received from listener contributions is vital to ensure the continuation of FMR’s service to the community and the listening pleasure it affords to many.

Please consider becoming a member of the Fine Music Radio Association by contributing financial support at any of the above levels.
