JAZZ LOUNGE (Wednesdays 19:00-20:00, other weekdays 18:30-20:00)
Each presenter brings his or her own special blend of jazz to the airwaves in this weekday evening programme sandwiched between Lindsay Williams's business programme and the specialist classical programmes at 20:00. It's Richard Jewson on Mondays, Mike Laatz on Tuesdays, Vernon Varty (pictured left) on Wednesdays, Jo McQue on Thursdays and Jack Beukes on Fridays. Says Vernon: "Thanks to old friends and the internet, I now have regular listeners in USA, UK, France, Netherlands, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, as well as Durban, where they all originally lived. Nice feeling."

SING, SWING AND ALL THAT JAZZ and JUST JAZZ (Saturdays 17:00-18:00)
Henry Holloway
looks back at history pertaining to music, be it birthdays, deaths or recording anniversaries. During September, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Artie Shaw, Duke Ellington, Les Brown, Charlie Parker, Count Basie, Woody Herman, Meade Lux Lewis, Gerry Mulligan, Johnny Fourie, Gavin Fullard, Bruce Gardiner, Rollo Scott, Fletcher Henderson, Dick Haymes, Mel Torme, Pat Longo, Stacey Kent and Jim Tomlinson, Mike Laatz, Mika, Abdullah Ibrahim and Roy Martin will come under Henry's spotlight.

Just Jazz , presented by Denoon Sieg, alternates with Henry’s programme. On September 11, encouraged by positive listener feedback to previous programmes that featured several interpretations of just one or two tunes, Denoon presents another – with seven versions each of the swing standards Woodchopper's Ball and Opus One.

MORNING HAS BROKEN (Sundays 6:30-7:00)
After a break for the winter, and heralding the official beginning of spring, James Patrick is back with his early-Sunday-morning half-hour of devotional music to put you in a spiritual frame of mind.

SONGCATCHER (Sundays 17:00-18:00)
By popular demand, yet far from pop, Songcatcher has returned for another season. Says presenter Shiloh Noone: “The blend of songs varies from traditional interpretations of English and Irish verse, protest music honed during the Civil Rights period, love songs from the hippy era and esoteric folklore with Tokenistic influence.” He says the FMR website’s audio streaming listernership is extremely high for the show. According to one source it is rated sixth in Europe.
