Ian Smith will be hosting an all star 20 piece Big Band at Pigalle

The dynamic and talented all star big band comprises some of Cape Town’s top and well known musicians. The excitement of 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 5 saxophones and a rhythm section will guarantee a night of jazz indulgence.

Ian Smith says : ‘The swing era is far from over - it worked for Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra and in recent times, Robbie Williams (Live at the Albert Hall) and Michael Buble (Swing when you Winning). We will prove this through the recreation of this evening for all to enjoy!’

Also featured at this event, will be Adelia Douw, a 16 year old singing sensation from the Delft music programme, as well as trumpet extraordinaire, Lorenzo Blignault , featured recently at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival.

Ian continues : ‘This will be a night to remember - an opportunity to dress up in your finest attire, rub shoulders with Cape Town’s high society, indulge in a sumptuous banquet of fine dining and be entertained by the phenomenal sound of big band swing and jazz classics, as the era of the Cotton Club is recreated.
