As Africa’s only classical and jazz FM radio station, FMR is committed to nurturing our stars of tomorrow. The FMR Bursary Trust Awards is giving away a total of R60 000 in prize money. This national competition was established by the Rolf-Stephan Nussbaum Foundation with the purpose of providing scholarships, bursaries or awards to students studying for a performance diploma or a degree in music.
The categories are jazz and classical, with the classical music section divided into instrumental and vocal. The panel of judges will select three finalists per category, who will then perform at the Baxter Concert Hall for the final round. This concert will be recorded and broadcast on Fine Music Radio. The closing date for entries is 22 July 2022.
