Conrad van Alphen returns to the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra to conduct the opening concert of Winter Symphonies at the City Hall. The CPO will perform Schumann’s Overture, Scherzo and Finale, and the Symphony no 6 by Tchaikovsky, and American oboist James Austin Smith will perform the Mozart Oboe Concerto. There’s a preconcert talk at 18:45 open to concertgoers.
