For millennia, trees have been associated with growth, strength and individuality – with their deep, entangled roots and wide-reaching branches also representing the interconnectedness of life. This is the inspiration for our immersive presentation at this year’s Hermanus FynArts that celebrates the splendour of the natural world and the unique biodiversity of that magical coastal town. Our choral offerings will range from the polyphony of Palestrina to captivating miniatures by Stanford and Mia Makaroff – and music written in the last decade by no fewer than four South African composers.
