FMR’s station manager Eon de Vos said, “We are so pleased to partner with Soil for Life. This empowering project is both educational and sustainable, and we believe that it will provide nourishment, in all senses of the word, to the children and their parents. We appeal not only to our listeners, but in particular to our corporate sponsors to help FMR in sowing the seeds for what, we are confident, will be a successful venture”.

The SFL CEO Cindy Buské said, “Apart from the thrill of seeing a little green oasis emerging at the educare, we are excited to be teaching parents and educators how to grow food using natural methods that build healthy soil that produces nutritious food for the children. Most importantly, they will be learning how to sustain the garden with little or no money by saving their own seed, growing seedlings, and making compost.”

Farieda Ryklief, founder of Women Impacting a Nation and WIN Educare agreed, “The garden will literally plant seeds of hope at the school and in the community.”

If 150 FMR listeners, donate R200 each, the station will reach their target and WIN Educare in Delft will have a vegetable garden.

Fine Music Radio is optimistic that with the right “materials”: generosity, care and hope, we can create a vegetable garden!
