Under the baton of Brandon Phillips, the UCT Symphony Orchestra joins the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra in a programme spanning contemporary and Romantic masterworks. The concert opens with the world premiere of Chaos in Disguise, Part 1 by Kyle Benade, winner of the 2025 Jan Royce Foundation Prize for Orchestral Composition. Laura Searle Piano Competition winner Isaac van der Merwe performs Rachmaninoff’s virtuosic Piano Concerto No. 2, followed by Dvořák’s beloved Ninth Symphony, From the New World.
