Description
Brandon Phillips will conduct the University of Cape Town Symphony and Cape Town Philharmonic Youth orchestrasin a programme spanning contemporary and Romantic masterworks. First up is the world premiere of Chaos in Disguise, Part 1 by Kyle Benade, winner of UCT’s 2025 Jan Royce Foundation Prize for Orchestral Composition. Isaac van der Merwe, the performs Rachmaninoff’s lush and virtuosic Piano Concerto No. 2. The concert culminates in one of the world’s most beloved masterworks, Dvorák’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”.
