Description
In collaboration with the Cape Town Concert Series, with the Cape Town Baroque Orchestra (CTB) under the direction of Erik Bosgraaf (conductor/director). Since 2015, CTB has presented all of its annual concerts on original baroque instruments (or copies of originals). For this event, we present a concert that might well be a first in the S.A. music landscape: early Classical-style symphonies, played on period-appropriate instruments. The programme includes works by C.P.E. Bach, F.J. Haydn, and W.A. Mozart, with extended orchestral forces that include two baroque oboes and two natural horns.
