Description
The UCT Symphonic Wind Ensemble, comprising approximately forty-five undergraduate and postgraduate students, performs its second concert of 2026, conducted by Brandon Phillips, Head of Woodwind and Ensembles at UCT. The programme explores the versatility of the wind ensemble, from James Barnes’s dramatic Symphonic Overture and UCT composition lecturer Jeremy Hart’s Prelude for Symphonic Overture, to Alfred Reed’s lively El Camino Real, Tokyo Kosei’s Children of Sanchez and Robert W. Smith’s vibrant African Ceremony, Song and Ritual.
