Until now the Opus newsletter, with the programme grid and schedule, has been sent to FMR members only. However, in celebration of three decades on air, we have decided to share Opus with all our FMR listeners.
Opus is an extension of what happens on air. Both the newsletter and the grid and schedule are designed to enhance listening pleasure.
We celebrate a community of wonderful people: our contributors, those we feature and, of course, our readers.
The Opus newsletter consists of these features:
Programme Pointers
- Composer of the Week
- Great Interpreters
- Anna’s Baroque Bon Bons, by Anna Stoddard
Art 2 Heart
- Wordsmiths: Nic Ciro’s Doodle of the Month
- The Dawn Chorus: Bird of The Month
- Combrink’s Corner, by Albert Combrink
Events
Jazz Appreciation: My Favourite Recordings, by Saan Mahomed
Person of Note
Hooked on Books
The Opus grid and schedule consists of:
The month’s programmes laid out in a one-page, seven-day grid
A detailed schedule of works that will be played and the presenters
My father always said, “It’s the greatest privilege to do a job you love.” I think of this each month when I send the newsletter. I hope you enjoy reading it.
Take care.
